You share information with the app so it can plan with you: your profile, journal entries, dreams and goals, and the financial picture you connect or enter by hand. Connected accounts arrive through Plaid, SnapTrade, and Coinbase, which share balances, holdings, and transactions with your authorization. If you upload a document, such as a paystub, a receipt, or an equity agreement, the app reads it to extract the details you approve and does not keep the file itself.

Everything the app collects is used for one purpose: powering your own planning. Your numbers feed your projections, your journal feeds your story, and the app's assistant reads your context to answer your questions. We use Anthropic's Claude models for that assistance, Twilio to carry text messages if you choose to text with the assistant, and Resend to deliver the emails you sign up for. These providers process your information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for advertising or marketing. There is no advertising in the product at all.

If you link a household partner, you choose what they can see, item by item. Dreams and equity grants are shared only when you turn sharing on for each one, and you can turn it off again at any time.

If you opt in by adding your mobile number to your account, you can text with the app's assistant. Texting is conversational: you write first, and the assistant replies about your own finances, confirms receipts you send, and delivers alerts you have asked for, such as a price watch. Message frequency varies with your use. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Your mobile number and your consent to receive texts are never shared with third parties for their marketing.

Your information stays as long as your account does, so your plan keeps its history. Delete something in the app and it leaves your plan. If you want your account and everything in it removed, ask and it will be done.

Your data lives in access-controlled databases with row-level security, so each account can only ever read its own information. Bank credentials are never stored by Life, By Design; account connections are made through the providers named above and can be revoked by you at any time.
